Very dangerous XTC laced with PMMA found

Ecstasy pills are circulating containing a very high amount of PMMA. This is an extremely dangerous substance.

It concerns a two-colored pill with a Trump image on the front, and a break line with ‘NL’ and ‘Trump’ on the back.

Do not use this pill

The effects of PMMA resemble those of ecstasy, but there are important differences that make PMMA exceptionally dangerous.

• You feel the effects later than with MDMA. If you think you’re taking MDMA but are actually swallowing PMMA, you may well believe you’ve taken a low-dose pill. This creates the risk that you take more, ending up with a dangerously high dose of PMMA.
• With PMMA, an overdose occurs much more quickly. The gap between the dose that causes mild effects and the dose that causes an overdose is very small. Taking too much can lead to nausea, overheating, irregular heartbeat, breathing difficulties, convulsions, heart attacks, and unconsciousness.

Advice for users and those around them

Is someone experiencing severe effects after taking it? Such as nausea, increased heart rate, and elevated body temperature? Get medical help immediately and try to calm the person down.
