About Pink Unity

Pink Unity is a volunteer project for and by members of the LGBTQIA+ Amsterdam party scene. Our peer educators give open-minded and evidence-based information on safer drugs use and safer sex at gay and queer dance, sex and fetish parties in Amsterdam.

Our target audience are those wo use drugs during nightlife and/or during sex. Pink Unity aims to reduce the harm caused by drug use and provide solid information on drugs, sex and (mental) health. We specifically address the topic of sex under the influence of drugs and its particular risks.

Pink Unity is supported by Jellinek and GGD Amsterdam. We have been present at gay and queer parties, festivals and club nights throughout Amsterdam since 2008, connecting different subscenes and communities. The look and feel of our peer education is always tailored to the party we are attending.

As of January 2023, Pink Unity is part of Unity Amsterdam.

Become a volunteer

Do you like talking about drugs and sex? Do you like sharing what you know with others within your community? Then contact us to become a peer educator for Pink Unity!

As the official accredited training we provide our volunteers is in Dutch, it is not yet possible to apply if your Dutch is not at a certain proficiency level. Please note that if you have received prior (relevant) training in a different country, you can apply and we will happily work out an arrangement.

Not fluent in Dutch, but still want to contribute?

We feel a pressing need for international representation when it comes to gay and queer peer education in a city like Amsterdam. Pink Unity is a project that is always changing in response to the needs of our audience, so let’s talk about what you can add to the project.

You can send us an email with your name, phone number and a bit of background and motivation. We will call you to arrange an interview to get to know each other better.

Invite Pink Unity to your party

Do you organise parties in Amsterdam that attract mainly those who identify as LGBTQIA+, or fetish/kink events and would you like to provide your audience with on-site, evidence-based, non-judgemental information on safer drug use and sex? Awesome! We want to provide that information. Please email us us so we can discuss the options and how we can tailor our look and feel to your particular event.
