Stimulants (uppers)

Stimulants provide more energy and more alertness. Also, many users gain a stronger sense of self-confidence. With stimulants, bodily functions actually accelerate; your heart rate and breathing increase and your blood pressure goes up. Your muscles tense which can cause jaw cramps. The only thing that doesn’t increase is your digestion; you are less or not hungry. Cocaine, speed (amphetamine), ecstasy, but also tobacco and coffee are examples of stimulants.
